Wandering in the city centre on Manchester’s hottest ever day
Dear members — yesterday afternoon, as our office boiled over and most of the team decamped to a very well air-conditioned craft ale cafe on Brown Street, we sent Dani out into the inferno. We wanted her to document Manchester’s hottest ever day and photograph a few people going about their jobs in the baking sun.
Her mini photo essay is today’s main feature. Before that, we summarise the key stories you should know about, including a much-hyped Manchester company whose stock is tanking and a local police officer who has just been charged with rape and inciting a teenage girl to engage in sexual activity.
