Dear members — Dani here. Today’s edition is a bittersweet one as it’s my last day here at Mill HQ. It’s been a fantastic two years but I’m heading off into the world as a freelance journalist-cum-(sort of) chef. What does the future hold? I have no idea but I’m excited to find out.
I joined The Mill back in September 2020 as its very first intern. Joshi’s office was either his underground flat or the Metro Cafe in Chorlton. The pandemic restrictions meant we were often apart. I remember how excited and nervous I felt — it was my first journalism job! Even though we were a tiny team, it felt like I was part of something huge. It’s been a journey for both of us, and during this time it’s been a privilege to see The Mill grow. There are more of us now, but we are still a tiny team. We are still part of something huge.
