Dear members — as thousands of brand-new adults flood our city in time for Freshers’ Week (or weeks — at the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and Salford University), it felt like a good time to celebrate young people. At 24, Mollie Simpson is not our youngest writer in biological terms (that honour goes to our child-prodigy, the 23-year-old Jack Walton), but she is spiritually the youngest of our young writers. Which is to say, she goes out a fair bit and is still dewy-faced enough to get ID-ed on a regular basis.
Who better to document the highs and highs of being young, fun and in this city? She’s kicking off the week at the Warehouse Project — with Dani in tow for the ride.
