Manchester’s housing crisis is in the suburbs

Dear readers — Manchester is known across the country for its glass skyscrapers and rapid growth story, but what’s less understood are the specific parts of the city that are getting more expensive. No, we’re not talking about the city centre — our data reporter James Gilmour has been doing some digging, and he’s found that wealthier commuter suburbs in south Manchester, and more deprived inner-urban areas adjacent to Oxford Road, are where the housing crisis is at its most acute.
