Good morning members. To mark the 20th anniversary of the Oldham riots, I spoke to the borough’s brand new council leader Arooj Shah, and Dani went to the neighbourhood which saw the most serious violence to take some photos and speak to local people.

The message from both Shah and Oldhamers we met on the ground? 20 years is a long time, and they want to move on.

Call out: Are you house-hunting in Greater Manchester? Would you let Dani accompany you for some viewings and meetings with agents to chronicle the crazy property market? Please email her if so: dani@manchestermill.co.uk.
