Good morning members — today’s piece takes us inside a care home in the midst of a national crisis. It’s by Ian Howells, who lost all his work as a mountain leader when the pandemic struck and found work in a newly built home in the Stockport area, which was being used as a temporary “rehabilitation centre” for patients leaving hospital. He worked there for three months and writes powerfully about the experience.
