Excellent report, I could almost feel the Icy grip of the wind and snow up on those moors. I don't know why some people can't just predict some of these consequences. Everyone needs to do their own risk assessment when striking out in unfamiliar territory. The people who rescue these hapless souls are truly heroic.
This so well written. I can't think the last time that I read such a quality piece like this in the MEN. Probably years. Reminds me of the seminal 'snowfall' piece from the New York Times many years ago.
Great article. MRT are absolute heroes, always worth dropping a couple of quid in the box when you're in a pub in the Peaks/Lakes/Dales. You never know when you might be calling on their services.
