Dear members — in today’s piece, we meet a woman called Shiun Kim who’s travelled to Manchester, via a few stops, from South Korea. She’s a singer and musician, and though she’s not well-known, there’s a decent chance you’ve passed her on Market Street. She performs here because the pandemic has meant pressing pause on her world travels, and the live concerts she normally does. In Manchester, she’s found an audience — as well as a place where she feels truly herself.
Before that, we have our usual mini-briefing with a chunkier Covid-19 update, with fresh data and insights from the Mayor’s Covid-19 response press conference on Wednesday.
