Enjoyed revisiting these memories, and mine, of that day of his visit to a local branch of the Union he belonged to in the U.S.S.R.?, the Ironworkers. I used be familiar with the area where he visited, since I was a Methodist Minister working in Whalley Range Methodist Church on Withington Road.
Punctuation was screwed in moving from my phone's tiny display to your Supercomputer at the Mill with its' quantum processors. Above " to in the U.S.S.R.?, the Ironworkers.", now ought to read " to in the U.S.S.R., the Ironworkers (?) . " I am a mere worker, following in the crowd of the pedants' revolt of Wat Tyler .
I too remember his visit. My school organised a visit to Ringway ( Manchester Airport) to greet him if the plane. But they only took the boys! My twin brother reported back to me. Perhaps an early sense of injustice leading to a lifetime of Feminism!

Hi Moira, could we include this in our letters section today? Just need your borough. Best, Dani
Yes. It was a junior school, 3 miles from the airport
Ah apologies Moira, I mean the borough where you are currently living. Best, Dani
