Dear members — today’s story takes you to meet James Gallogly, the managing chaplain of HMP Manchester, formerly Strangeways. Jack sat down with him to talk about the legacy of the Strangeways chaplain job — seeing that the chapel was where the prison’s infamous 1990 riot began — and spots some of the oddities that arise when a city develops around a high-security detention facility.
