Having just paid my subscription to The Mill I feel like I’m taking back some of the huge treasure of local journalism lost to time, technology and an over-reliance on social media.
When we first embraced new technology, as David Barnett pointed out in his excellent article, we little guessed how it would strangle major areas of journalism as we knew it, many fatally.
So, thank you for re-introducing sanity with The Mill and all good wishes for its future.
What lovely insight into a life well-lived. I remember growing up in the '90s in Bradford, looking up at the T & A building and being fascinated at the conveyor belts producing the papers. It was inspiring and made me want to be a journalist. Such a shame that the building was bought for commercial investment.
