This is such a thoughtful, probing and well-sourced story, nuanced and carefully balanced. Thanks. It’d be a great starting point for future Millers’ discussions, online or in person.

As a Hongkongers who live in Manchester, I would share our experience to all of you, that is don't trust China Government.

Most of the Hongkongers believe that we can make the prefer balance with China after 1997, with the Basic Law and Joint Declaration of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the People's Republic of China on the Question of Hong Kong. We trust those will be valid for at least 50 years.

But the fact is China Government didn't follow the Basic Law and Declaration, they even said that was just a historical document. That would crazy and proof that China Government betrayed to Hong Kong in 2019.
