Very much looking forward to the new cycle way connecting the town with the Transpennine Trail in Stockport. Hoping it will make my occasional cycling commute just that little easier! Well anything that cuts off a part of the A6 has to be welcomed!

Just running into East Didsbury now lacks ambition - the trams will get full - they should look at on-street running right up the A34 into town. Yes that takes space from cars, but trams can carry many more people.

I hope Jacks read on Night and Day gets past the headlines and ‘common sense prevails’ shouts I’ve seen today. The likes of Dave Haslam etc weighing in when clearly they don’t fully understand what’s actually happened. A lot of what Night and Day have said publicly just is stretching the truth at best, including their statement today. There was never any intention to close them down.

Stockport is a great place to live with great transport links, and with new bars and restaurants in the market square and underbanks it really is coming on in leaps and bounds. It has real character with a boho feel as well. I have lived there for 25 years now and seeing how it is developing with new flats and apartments in the converted wharehouses really lifts the spirit when walking around the town. Stockport is definately on the up.
