Dear Millers — before we get to today’s story, we have some good news: we won an award! At the Regional Press Awards, organised by the Society of Editors. They named us as Digital Initiative of the Year, and the judges wrote this lovely description of what we are doing:

The Mill has found a new way to safeguard long form journalism. It asks a lot of questions of the established media and is an excitng model that should make the industry think hard about its strategy.

It’s great to get more recognition that this model is working and another sign that we are providing new ideas and a bit of hope to this troubled industry. Thanks for your unbelievable support in helping us to get here.
