Plus: we join a class where newly-arrived Mancunians learn to speak English
Dear members — welcome to this week’s Thursday edition. Joshi just came back from a presentation about Greater Manchester’s “international strategy”, which allowed no questions from the press and featured very little reflection on the ethical dimensions of the city region’s approach to foreign policy. He’s written about that below.
For our “At Home With…” this week, Dani meets Tim Williams, the artistic director of Manchester music ensemble Psappha. Plus, Jack visits Ancoats charity Mustard Tree to see the work they do to help Manchester’s asylum seekers and refugees learn English.
