I feel for most of society in this pandemic but, probably as I have a uni age son, somehow I feel that it is the teens who have had hope taken away most and this article sums up the poverty of their aspirations. Extremely well written piece that for me demonstrates that through the writing.

This is a great article. Can’t think where else I could find a thoughtful piece like this, which explores a particular underrepresented viewpoint in such an open, non-judgmental but perceptive and thought-provoking way. Thanks

Thanks John, glad you liked it. We like this format of interviewing people we meet around the city. It doesn't always work, but this time it did because they were so chatty and honest.

This is so sad, I really feel for this generation. I hope they can hang in there and seek support if needed.

This is superb. Would love to read more articles like this. The dialogue makes the girls feel really 'present'. They were a lucky find.

Yeah they were - they were happy to chat and very honest about their lives and thoughts, which you don't always get of course. We try to do these stories based on conversations with regular people - I don't know if you saw this one about Elaine in Miles Platting (https://manchestermill.co.uk/p/i-miss-the-old-place).
