From Plumber to Parliament: Inside Hannah Spencer's first (almost) 100 days.

Kick off your bank holiday weekend with a live conversation from The Mill.

Hello readers. Hannah Spencer became Greater Manchester's first-ever Green Party MP when she won the Gorton and Denton by-election back in February.

In the months since, she has quickly become one of the North's most recognisable political figures - not least for her much-talked-about journey from a plumber to Parliament.

But what has it actually been like adapting to a completely new role? And can she have the kind of impact on local people's lives that she promised in her highly successful by-election campaign?

How has she handled the scrutiny that comes with it - especially online?

The Mill's Ophira Gottlieb wrote a popular profile of Spencer during the campaign, and now the two will sit down together in May to review the new MP's first (almost) 100 days in office.

Event Details:

πŸ“… Friday 22nd May - 5:30pm start (approx. 90mins)
πŸ“ Red Arch, 11 Red Bank, Cheetham Hill, Manchester M4 4HF

After the conversation, we'll open the floor for audience questions and discussion. And as it's a Friday evening, why not stick around afterwards for a drink if you fancy it - the team at The Mill will be about for a natter.

If you’re already a Mill member, tickets are Β£3. For non-members, tickets are Β£5.
